The work is in, and all that’s left is your decision: accept it, or send it back for revisions. Here’s how both options work.
How to tell the work is ready
When the freelancer submits the work for your approval, the deal status changes from In progress to Client review, and you get an email letting you know.
Important! Sometimes a freelancer sends you the completed work while the deal still shows In progress. That means they haven’t closed it on their side: until they select Finish, there’s nothing for you to accept. If the result has already reached you, remind them to take that step, and the status will change to Client review.
From that moment you have 14 days to review the work and either accept it or ask for revisions. If you don’t decide within those 14 days, the result is accepted automatically.
How to review the result
Two options.
From your account:
Sign in at mellow.io
Open Invoicing –> Secure Deals
Select Accept work or Request revision
From the secure deal page:
Open the deal through the link in your email
Select Accept work or Request revision
If you’re happy with the result
Select Accept work. Mellow notifies the freelancer and releases the funds to their balance, ready for them to withdraw to their payment method.
There’s nothing more to pay: the money was set aside when you paid for the deal earlier on.
If the result needs revisions
Select Request revision. The freelancer gets a notification, reworks the result, and submits it again – the deal returns to the Client review status, and you have another 14 days to decide. There’s no limit on the number of revision rounds.
It’s worth telling the freelancer exactly what didn’t work, so they know what to change.
