Contractor Management is Mellow’s platform for working with external contractors. It covers the full collaboration cycle – from signing a contract to paying the contractor and receiving closing documents.
In Contractor Management, your company signs a direct agreement with each contractor, so the closing documents name your company and that specific contractor.
The price is a flat fee of $35 per active contractor per month. It doesn’t change with the number or size of payments – you’re billed once a month, no matter what.
What you can do in Contractor Management:
Create contracts
Build a contract from a ready-made Mellow template, or upload your own document along with any attachments. Set the contractor’s details, the terms of work, and the payment parameters: amount, currency, and frequency. Both parties sign electronically, right on the platform.
Invite and onboard contractors
Invite contractors one at a time or in bulk. Each one receives an invitation, signs up for the service, passes identity verification, fills out any required tax forms, and adds the payment methods they’ll use to receive payouts. The whole process happens on the platform.
Track contractor statuses
The Contractors section shows every contractor and their current status – onboarding, active contract, awaiting signature, and so on.
Set up payments
For each contract, choose a payment type: Fixed rate (a set amount on a regular schedule) or Milestone (payment for specific stages of work). Enter the amount, currency, and payment dates, and invoices are generated automatically from those settings.
Manage your balance
In the Wallet, top up your balance, convert between currencies, and review the full history of your financial transactions. Payments run on the Airwallex payment infrastructure.
Pay invoices
The Invoices section lists every invoice that’s been generated. Pay them one by one or in bulk, open the details of any invoice, and download them as needed. The money reaches each contractor in their chosen currency, on the payment method they selected. Mellow reminds you ahead of every due date, so you have time to top up your balance and never miss a payment.
