Verify your account in United Arab Emirates

Recommendations for successful account verification

Updated this week

Account verification is the process of verifying your identity and your address. What is verification for?

To verify your identity and address, you need to upload certain documents. To learn about the requirements for such documents, see Verification rules. In this article we have our recommendations for the freelancers from United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Please note:

  • You need to take a photo of the original printed versions of your documents, and then upload them in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format.

  • All four corners of the document must be visible in the photo.

  • Photo should not be cropped or edited.

  • Electronic documents need to be uploaded in their original format (PDF), screenshots are not accepted.

Verifying your identity

For the first verification step, prepare the following documents:

  • Passport;

  • ID Card( بطاقة هوية);

  • Driving licence;

  • Residence permit;

  • International document of other countries.

Verifying your residential address

To confirm your address, the document must contain your full name, address, and be issued within the last 6 months or have a valid expiry date. We successfully accept following documents:

Document issued by Bank of UAE

  • Mostly, freelancers from UAE confirm their address with bank documents;

  • Examples of documents: any kind of bank/account statement, bank book, or bank reference;

  • You can create the document yourself in the bank app, website, or contact their support;

  • Please note that the document must contain your full name, address, and be issued within the last 6 months;

  • You need to upload the document in PDF format or take a photo of the paper document;

  • Documents from the following banks have worked well previously: ADCB, ADIB, Al Hilal Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD, FAB Islamic, HSBC, Mashreq, WIO. But you can upload a document from other bank, if it contains all the needed information.

Utility bill or service contract

  • Examples of documents: internet bills from Etisalat and DU, electricity bill from EtihadWE, cooling services bill from TASLEEM, gas bill from Lootah BCGAS, water/electricity bill from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, electricity/gas/water bill from SEWA;

  • The document must contain your name, address, the logo of the organisation;

  • The document itself must be issued within the last 6 months.

Tenancy Agreement

  • The agreement must be written in typed Arabic or English language;

  • You need to upload full agreement in PDF format. Make sure that it contains your full name, address, valid expiry date and signs of both sides;

  • If the agreement is valid, but was signed more than 6 months ago, contact Support via chat so we check it manually;

  • If you have a paper tenancy agreement, take photos of the pages with your name, address, expiry date and signs and upload it in JPEG, JPG or PNG format.

If you have any additional questions, contact support via online chat or at [email protected]. We’re always there to help!
