How do I sign up via the Mellow app?

Instructions for registering in the mobile app

Freelancers can sign up for Mellow after being invited by a client, or by themselves in order to work with offers. The instructions below cover both scenarios.

Important!

Residents of the following countries and territories cannot register in Mellow: Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.

1. Download and install the Mellow app.

Download the Mellow app from the App Store, Google Play.

Please note that for the app to work correctly, your device needs to meet the following operating system (OS) requirements:

Important:

  • If you are registering using a client's invite, but your phone doesn't support the recommended OS versions, follow the guide for signing up via the website.

  • If you are registering by yourself to work with offers, update your device's operating system or use a different device.

2. Select the account type and method of registration.

  • Once in the app, tap Sign up

  • Choose Freelancer

Copy the link from the invite email and paste it into the "Link from email" field. Tap “Continue”.

Tap “No invite from client” and then “Sign up without an invite”.

Important! If you haven't received an invite email despite having been invited by a client, there are several things you can try. First, double-check that you gave your client the correct email address, and also check all of the email folders (including Spam). You can also ask the client to resend the invite.

​3. Enter your phone number and confirm it.

  • Select the international country code and manually enter your phone number.

  • Make sure you provide a working number, because it will be used for SMS confirmation.

  • Tap "Send code" and enter it in the "SMS code" field. Tap “Continue”. If the SMS doesn't arrive within 10 minutes, try requesting the code again or consult this troubleshooting guide.

Important! Your phone number acts is a unique identifier and can only be linked to one Mellow account.

4. Enter your personal details.

  • Avoid spaces before and after inputs.

  • Use only English or Russian for the name.

  • Don't forget to specify your date of birth.

  • If there's no exact match for your specialization, choose the closest one.

  • Read the linked documents and then check the appropriate boxes to confirm your consent.

  • By checking "Receive important notifications from Mellow", you agree to receive notifications and important news to the email you signed up with.

5. Create a password and confirm it.

  • Password must be between 8 and 20 characters long and include:
    - a lowercase letter
    - an uppercase letter

    - a number

    - one of the following special characters: !@$%^&*()_-+=/?\±§<>

  • Tap “Sign up”. You will receive a confirmation email: follow the link inside to complete the registration.

Important!

If you're a resident of one of the following countries, you can only receive payments in Mellow after getting verified: Afghanistan, Barbados, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gibraltar, Haiti, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, Senegal, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Yemen.
