Mellow takes the hassle out of working with international companies and helps you get paid by clients around the world.
To get paid by your clients, you create offers and invoices in Mellow. An offer is an invoice with a payment guarantee – the client deposits the money before the work starts.
You can work through the tasks in an offer on your own or as a team. Teams are great for small groups of contractors and for managers juggling several projects at once: we help the whole team get paid for the project and divide the payment among the contractors automatically.

The project manager’s role
The project manager is the freelancer who creates the offer and sends it to the client. They’re also the team’s point of contact throughout: they review the contractors’ work and submit it to the client for approval. As the manager, you can simply coordinate the team or work on tasks right alongside everyone else – it’s your call.
Important! If you’re the one creating the offer, be sure to add yourself to it and set an amount for your own work. When the client accepts and pays for the result, Mellow sends the payment straight to the contractors listed in the offer – and if you’re not on that list, none of it reaches you.
How to create an offer for a team
1. Create an offer – our separate article walks through this step by step.
2. Select the three-dots menu (⋮) and choose Add Task.
3. Add a contractor by entering their email address. They’ll get an invitation to register with the service, and as soon as they set up a profile, they can accept both the offer and their task in it.
Everyone you invite stays on your list, so next time there’s no need to send email invitations again – just pick the contractors you need.
4. Fill in the task details: set the price, choose the type of work, and add at least three attributes.
5. As soon as the contractor registers and appears among the offer’s contractors, copy the offer link and send it to the client.
Once the client accepts the offer, you’re ready to begin.
How the payment is distributed
When the client accepts and pays for the tasks, each contractor automatically receives the share you set when you created the offer, straight to their Mellow account. We’ll prepare closing documents – completion certificates and invoices – for every contractor too.
