Change personal details for your Mellow account

Changing your profile's email, phone number, last name, country, or residential address

Updated this week

Freelancers can change their personal data on their own.

You will need access to the email address or phone number that you used to sign up.

If you don't have access to the phone number associated with your Mellow account:

  • For verified accounts: Reach out to Support via chat. You'll need a camera to re-verify your selfie, and after that our Support team will make the changes to your profile.

  • For unverified accounts: Changing contact details is possible only through a written request from a client. Ask your client to contact Support via chat and provide your new contact details. If you need to change your country or last name, you'll need to verify your account, and this info will change automatically.

Phone number and email address are unique identifiers used to log in freelancers to their Mellow accounts. For this reason, changing both your email address and phone number at the same time is not possible. To do that, you'll most likely need to delete your account and sign up again.

Changing your email or phone number

1. To change your email address or phone number in the Personal details section, click “Edit”.

2. Enter your new phone number or new email address in the appropriate field.

Double-check the data and click “Verify” to confirm the change.

A 6-digit code will be sent, and the SMS code or Code from email field will become available.

  • To confirm your new email address, an email with a code will be sent to this address. Enter it in the appropriate field.

  • To confirm your new phone number, an SMS with a code will be sent to it. Enter it in the appropriate field.

After you enter the confirmation code, your phone number or email will change.

Changing your last name

If your account is not verified, you will need to fill in your profile to change your last name. You can change this data at the first stage.

If your account is verified, please reach out to Support via chat. You will need to re-do the first step of verification, that is, confirm your identity by uploading a passport or ID card with the new last name.

If you previously verified your residential address using a document with the old surname, then you would also need to re-verify the address using a document with the new surname.

If your account is verified and you just need your full name to be displayed in a different language, please contact Support via chat.

Important!

You can't change your full name, because it is prohibited by theTerms of Use.

Changing your country or residential address

If your account is not verified, you will need to fill in your profile to change country or address. You can change this data at the second stage.

If your account is verified, you can change your country by re-verifying your residential address. Contact support to reset the existing verified data via chat.

Tips regarding documents for successful address verification:

  • The document must be in your name and specify the full address: city, street, house, apartment. If the document is not a passport or an ID card, then it must be issued no more than 6 months before the verification date. The document must have the seal or QR code of the issuing authority, or an authorized official's signature.

  • If you are using a page from your passport or an ID card, you may also need to upload a document to confirm your identity at the first step of verification.

To learn more, see Verification rules.

Changing your tax details

If your account is not verified, you will need to fill in your profile to change tax details. You can change this data at the third stage.

Your tax information is automatically reset when you change your country. Otherwise, you need to contact support to change your tax ID number.
